Language: We know it’s a film poster as it relies on visual codes, it contains a Credit Block which is at the very bottom in a condensed font. This represent its legitimacy, listing, production companies legal disclaimers and credits to the crew. It has a release date which shows in April 26th as a call to ‘action’ for the audience. The characters are laid out in a way which shows the narrative importance of each character with the largest characters occupying more of the poster, for example Tony Stark (Iron Man) at the top and Captain America in the very front. The main actors are listed upon the top edge which can be used as marketing hook.
Industries: The text defines and identifies Marvel Studios as the production company with its distribution handled by Walt Disney Motion Pictures. Shows the film was directed by a filmmaking duo Anthony and Joe Russo better known as the Russo Brothers.
Audience: It’s target market is towards it’s core fans Comic Book and MCU Loyalists which is shown with the Prominent A logo behind the characters, it’s also attracted by the scale of characters lineups, and intense sci-fi spectacle imagery.
Representation: Traditional masculinity, Captain America and Iron Man are represented with stoic, serious facial expressions, whereas Gender Balancxe and Female Empowerment takes the show with Characters like Captain Marvel and Black Widow being placed high up in the billing structure and shown with independent, active gazes.
