Connotations of an advert

CocaCola Taste The Feeling Advert: Visual breakdown:  Setting - The advertisement is set on a sunny, sandy beach with a soft focus, ocean background suggesting this is on a warm day. Image Elements - The central focus of the image is a large, red tilted Coca Cola can resting in the sand. Hand drawn sketchy black doodles are overlaid on the scene: a camera flash on the left and arms wrapped around the cans, making it seem as if the can was posing for a photograph. Posture - The can is tilted, giving it a dynamic and playful stance rather then a rigid stance presentation. Costume - The product features its iconic classic red and white style brand labelling on the can with one of it’s primary slogans ‘Original Taste’ clearly on the side. Colours - The main colour is a vibrant red contrasted with the golden sand, light blue sky and ocean and black sketch lines. Movie Poster analysis

 Poster chosen: Avengers Endgame Movie poster Language: We know it’s a film poster as it relies on visual codes, it contains a Credit Block which is at the very bottom in a condensed font. This represent its legitimacy, listing, production companies legal disclaimers and credits to the crew. It has a release date which shows in April 26th as a call to ‘action’ for the audience. The characters are laid out in a way which shows the narrative importance of each character with the largest characters occupying more of the poster, for  example Tony Stark (Iron Man) at the top and Captain America in the very front. The main actors are listed upon the top edge which can be used as marketing hook. Industries: The text defines and identifies Marvel Studios as the production company with its distribution handled by Walt Disney Motion Pictures.
